I MET KEVIN KLINE TONIGHT
by Chelle

I have been monitoring this sight ever since I found out that Mr. Kline was coming to my theater to do a fund raiser for us. (I even pulled some pictures off the web for party invitations). The tickets were $200-500 dollars, so none of us "actor" types could afford to go to the benefit. Well, to make a long story short, I got to volunteer for the theater by waiting tables. I waited on his table, but didn't get to talk to him, since I had to be "professional". However, after the gala, I was introduced to him by my friend who sat next to him all evening. He was sooo gracious and supportive to our theater. He even let the volunteer actors and techs from the theater go watch his dress rehearsal, and we got to ask him questions. He was warm, funny, and very down to earth. When I spoke to him 1 on 1, I asked him questions about Pirates of Penzance and French Kiss, and he treated me like an old friend. Everybody at my theater were so touched that he would fly to KS to help us. In fact, we raised over $100,000 that night.

God Bless Kevin Kline, he is a real gem and I will never forget meeting him. It's so refreshing to meet an actor who really cares about the "arts" and not money and publicity. I'm sorry I've rambled, but I want to reiterate what this sight is about...a great man!
