KLINE TO BE HONORED WITH HUMANITARIAN AWARD

   The juvenile diabetes fight also gets a helping hand Nov. 13 at the Museum of Natural History. At that fund-raising event, Meryl Streep will present Kevin Kline with a humanitarian award for his efforts. Jon Stewart hosts. Harvey and Eve Weinstein co-chair.

Kevin Kline joined the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) New York Chapter Board in July of 1999. He has served as Vice President of Government Relations from 1999 -2001 and Vice President of Public Awareness and Education from 2001-2003. Kevin has been an enthusiastic supporter of the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes for the past four years and currently serves as National Walk Chairman for the Foundation's Walks held in 250 cities worldwide and is expected to raise $80 million this year alone. He has testified in Washington, D.C. on behalf of increased diabetes research funding and support for stem cell research, met with Congressional representatives there, and testified during JDRF's 2001 Children's Congress as well.

On November 13th, 2004, Kevin will be honored at the NY Chapter's Promise Ball with the Humanitarian of the Year Award.

The Annual Promise Ball, hosted by the New York City Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF), is one of The City's most prestigious fundraising black-tie affairs. Corporate, social and entertainment leaders join us for an evening of entertainment, shopping, and a Casino. Other highlights include a live and silent auction and a sweepstakes drawing.
